How to make a goldfish out of paper strips

Beautiful goldfish are found not only in fairy tales. A child can get acquainted with them in a specialized store that sells a large number of inhabitants for home aquariums. You can also consolidate knowledge about the goldfish with the help of creative crafts. For example, we propose to make a beautiful goldfish from thin strips of paper, focusing on our master class.

To create our fish, we prepared:

  • orange and red paper strips,
  • quilling pattern,
  • special tool for twisting paper strips,
  • PVA glue,
  • scissors.

We will make the body of our goldfish from an orange stripe. To do this, we twist it into a roll, and then place it in a 25 mm cell.

After that, the orange twisted circle must be removed from the template, and the tip of the paper strip should be glued.

Now you need to shape the body of the future goldfish. To do this, gently squeeze the circle on both sides with your fingers.

Let’s take care of the fins of our goldfish. We will make them from a red stripe. First, cut it into 2 equal parts, from which you get 2 fins.

We twist the half of the red strip with a tool, and then place it in a cell with a size of 12 mm.

Taking this circle out of the template, do not forget to glue its edge.

We make another round blank for the fin of the future goldfish.

Now these round blanks for the fins must be squeezed from both sides, giving the following shape.

These blanks will go as the dorsal and ventral fins of our goldfish. Glue them to the right place.

To create the tail fin, we need another red strip, which we cut in half. After that, we twist the same blanks, and then glue them together as follows.

We glue the finished tail fin to our fish.

It remains to fix the decorative eye. Our quilling goldfish is ready.

Such a fish can be a wonderful decoration for a postcard or even a whole picture made of thin paper strips.
