How to sew an Elephant toy from felt
In this master class, we will sew a simple but cute toy in the form of an elephant from felt. Such a product will not only attract the attention of the child, but also contribute to the development of his fine motor skills.
To make such a toy, we need:
- yellow, pink and white felt;
- the thread is white and brown;
- 2 beads for the eyes;
- 5 beads (different);
- needle;
- scissors;
- paper;
- ballpoint pen or pencil;
- sintepon.
First, as usual when sewing felt toys, draw a pattern on a plain sheet of paper or cardboard. To do this, use a simple pencil or ballpoint pen. The elephant itself will consist of only 4 parts. 2 body parts and 2 ears.
Now we will prepare the parts from felt. To do this, choose the main color of the felt, based on your desire and the availability of material. But do not choose too dark shades.
In our case, the elephant itself will be pink, and the ears will be yellow. Such a toy will turn out bright and will definitely attract the attention of the child.
Cut out the ear from the paper template. We circle the body on pink felt and cut out 2 identical parts. And then circle the ear twice on yellow felt and cut out 2 parts too.
Now cut out the eyes. Let’s make them one piece. Trace it onto white felt and cut it out. Now we thread a white thread into the needle and sew on the eyes on the front part of the elephant. Immediately sew on beads instead of pupils.If there are no small beads, then the pupils can be embroidered or drawn with a marker.
Now sew any available beads in the center of the part.
Embroider a smile with brown thread. Then sew 1 ear.
Next, add 2 parts of the calf and sew. Do not forget that the toy needs to be slightly filled with padding polyester to make it voluminous.
On the head you need to sew 1 more ear. We place it between 2 parts of the body so that it goes a little beyond the other ear, which has already been sewn on.
The felt elephant is ready! It remains only to decorate it with a satin ribbon bow.
