How to sew a Christmas tree toy from felt in the form of a gnome
The New Year is a warm and magical holiday, so we approach the decoration of the festive tree with special trepidation.
In this master class, we will make a New Year’s toy from felt in the form of a gnome.
To make a toy you will need:
- blue, white, orange and beige felt;
- scissors;
- needle;
- a thread;
- paper;
- ball pen;
- synthetic winterizer;
- thin satin ribbon.
On a regular sheet of paper, draw the body of a gnome. We draw the beard on the same part, and the cap separately.
Then we transfer the cap to a sheet of orange felt. Cut out two identical parts.
Now you need a blue sheet of felt. On it we circle the body of the gnome and cut out the detail in two copies.
Now let’s move on to the beard. Cut it out of the template and circle it on white felt. Immediately cut out a small oval from beige felt to make a spout.
First, sew the nose onto the beard. And only then we sew a beard to one of the parts of the body.
We sew, stepping back slightly from the top edge, since then we will sew the cap to it.
In this step, we start stitching the two parts of the body. We insert the thread into the needle along the length. We put them together and sew, starting from the top edge, we reach the bottom. We sew the bottom side, and then we sew the second side side with the same thread.
We do not sew the top yet. Now we place the body between the two parts of the cap.Carefully fold the pieces so that all sides come together. Sew one side of the cap. Then we fill the part with synthetic winterizer. But do not fill too tightly. We just need to achieve the volume effect of the toy.
Now you need a thin satin thread. Cut off a small piece and fold it into a loop. We insert this loop between the details of the cap from above.
We continue to flash. So we sewed a loop for which the toy can be hung on the Christmas tree.
You can decorate the cap. To do this, take a varnish with sparkles and make a few dots. So the cap will shine from the light of the garlands.
