How to make an origami paper fish
If you are familiar with the origami technique, then a simple square of paper can be turned into anything. We will make a fish out of it, and the whole process is demonstrated in this master class.
To create such a fish, we only need:
- a square sheet of paper (our fish will be red);
- two plastic eyes.
Initially, on our square it is necessary to perform certain folds. First of all, we fold it along two diagonals.
After that, it is required to perform transverse folds, but in the other direction.
Now we fold the blank of the future fish in the form of a double square.
At the top layer, we begin to bend the corners as follows.
We bend the left corner symmetrically.
Now we begin to gently straighten this folded layer.
It needs to be folded in the form of a rhombus.
On the reverse side, we repeat the same.
Now turn the layer to the side, the workpiece should look like this.
Turn the bottom corner of the top layer up.
On the reverse side, we do the same.
Let’s make a tail. To do this, bend the corner bent upwards to the left side so that the lower edge coincides and is located horizontally.
We bend it to the right side.
In the middle we form a fold.
We bend it to the left side.
Let’s turn the blank of our fish and repeat the same thing.
Now we turn these bent corners up and to the right.
We’ll do the same on the other side.
It remains to bend them down. The tail of the fish is ready.
For convenience, let’s rotate our fish 90 degrees. Now we will make the dorsal and ventral fins. We bend one corner up at a right angle.
Bend the other corner down at a right angle.
Now we begin to gently straighten these corners, slightly twisting them.
So we got the dorsal fin. In the same way we form the ventral fin of our fish.
It remains to glue the plastic eyes. Our origami paper fish is ready.
