How to make an origami paper butterfly
These beautiful insects are distinguished from others by the presence of four large wings with a pattern. Of course, it is difficult to repeat the beauty of butterflies with paper, but we will try to make such an origami craft. The wings of our butterfly will not have a pattern, but if desired, after its creation, they can be decorated at your discretion. And the process of making a butterfly is shown in our master class.
To create a butterfly, a square sheet of colored paper will be enough for us.
Before making the butterfly itself, we need to make a blank. At the first stage, fold the square in half in the transverse direction.
Then we perform another transverse fold. This is how we should be able to.
We will make the following folds along diagonal lines. They must be made on the other side than the transverse folds.
Due to the folds made, we can fold the blank of the future butterfly in the form of a double triangle.
Now let’s start forming the wings. To do this, you need to fold the top layer of the triangle up. Let’s do it on the right side first.
Then we perform a symmetrical fold on the left.
Next, we turn our workpiece over as follows. The triangular blank of the butterfly turned out to be located with its wide base up.
We bend the lower corner of this triangle upward so that it protrudes slightly (by 5 mm) above the upper base. At the same time, we do not touch the bottom layer, these will be the small wings of the future butterfly.
We bend the protruding small corner in the upper part to the other side. This will be the head of our butterfly.
Now it remains for us to turn the workpiece over to the other side and bend it slightly in the transverse direction.
Our paper butterfly is ready. If desired, you can make several of these crafts using the origami technique, made in a different color.
