How to make a bear out of cones
Spruce and pine cones are the main diet of squirrels. Jumping on branches takes a huge amount of energy. To restore strength, the animal eats seeds from 100 or more pine cones per day. Many trees grow in city parks, but squirrels are rarely found there. Cones can be collected safely, without fear that the rodents will be left without food.
Preschoolers and elementary school students use this natural material in creative work – to create small crafts. What don’t guys think of? From the cones, original owls, goblin, fish and other representatives of the animal or fairy-tale world are obtained.
To make a bear cub from a pine cone, you need to prepare:
- plasticine;
- plastic eyes (optional)
- 2 cones (large and small);
- colorful leaves.
Plasticine is needed not only to fasten parts, but also to create them. Brown color is used for sculpting round flat ears and an oval muzzle. A black large ball is a nose, a red one is a tongue. Ears can be decorated with two yellow inserts. Plastic eyes are a finished piece.

Carefully attach the elements to the small cone as shown in the picture. Plasticine easily sticks to the rough surface of the bear’s muzzle. If there are acorn caps, then some of the parts can be replaced. Ears and cheeks will be much more interesting.True, the hats are poorly glued with plasticine. In this case, it is better to use glue.

Next, you need to break off the top of the pine cone. So it is much more convenient to attach the head to the body. Not without parental intervention. A large brown plasticine ball is the bear’s neck. This detail can be covered with an elegant scarf.

The next stage of the work does not require comments. Having examined the pine cone well from all sides, we will attach the head, check the stability of the craft. The wide base of the body securely holds the animal in an upright position.

We make paws for the bear from plasticine. Bend the ovals slightly. If there is a dry chestnut plush in the house, great. Spiny quarters are the perfect material for making bear paws.

Attach the details to the pine cone – the body. If desired, the stack can cut grooves – claws.

You can continue to work – sculpt a second pair of paws for the bear. But this step is not required at all. The animal stands firmly, does not sway. The craft is ready.

To create a forest environment, chestnut mushrooms, dried leaves or acorns are useful. A stag beetle found during a walk in the forest fits perfectly into the setting. By the way, this insect is included in the Red Book of many states. You can’t offend him. In the natural environment, he already has a large number of enemies. These are owls, crows, wasps, etc.
Multi-colored leaves remind that autumn is in the yard. However, the mood is still summer, sunny.
It’s a great piece of work, isn’t it?
