How to draw snowdrops in watercolor

In spring, snowdrops are one of the first flowers to appear. The snow has not completely gone yet, when delicate and fragile flowers appear. It is them that we will learn to draw today. And you can’t imagine a better material for drawing snowdrops, like watercolor! With the help of watercolor paints, you can convey the spring mood and beauty of these first flowers.

Materials for drawing snowdrops:

  • simple pencil;
  • watercolor sheet of paper;
  • eraser;
  • brushes;
  • a glass of water;
  • black gel pen;
  • palette;
  • watercolor.

Stages of drawing snowdrops with watercolor

1. First draw a circle. Then draw two arcs in the middle. Here are the first side petals ready. It remains only to draw another one in the center.

2. We draw tiny stamens in the middle of the flower in the form of ovals or circles. Draw an arc to get a stem.

3. Add two more of these flowers and draw stems with long leaves.

4. We breed green with yellow on the palette. Wet the areas of the leaves with a wet brush. Then we apply a new color. We draw additional green watercolors along the lower contour of the leaves to enhance the tone in that section of the picture. Let’s add some color to the base of each flower.

5. The petals of each snowdrop will be created in a delicate blue color. We use two shades for this, which we dilute well with water on the palette before applying to paper.

6.Add yellow color to the stamens and let the drawing dry thoroughly. After that, use a black gel pen or a marker with a thin rod. We draw a neat outline and add characteristic strokes.

Thus, in a short time we will get a beautiful and delicate spring pattern in the form of a small bouquet of snowdrops.
