How to crochet an educational toy Tactile ball
In this master class, we will crochet an educational toy – a tactile ball. Such a ball perfectly develops fine motor skills and massages the fingers. In addition, children are always interested in looking at bright toys. We will complement this ball with a rattle.
To knit a ball we need:
- yarn (any children’s);
- multi-colored beads;
- synthetic winterizer;
- a jar of Kinder Surprise;
- any cereal.
We string a lot of beads with a needle on the yarn.
We start knitting a ball with a set of 2 VP.
We knit now in the 2nd loop 6 sc. Next, we need to increase the number of loops by 2 times. We knit 2 sc in a loop.
In the next row you need to add 6 more new loops. And we knit in it first 1 sc in a loop, then 2 sc in a loop. And so on until the end of the row.
Now we start knitting with beads. We arrange them randomly at approximately the same distance. At the same time, do not forget to make increases in this row in every 3rd loop. We move the bead close to knitting.
Hold with your finger so that the bead remains on the front side and insert the hook into the loop.
We pick up the working thread and stretch it, as in ordinary knitting. And we knit loops from the hook. That is, we knit the usual RLS, simply by including a bead in the work.
And we knit further a few RLS and then again RLS with a bead.
Next, we knit a row without beads, making an increase in every 4th loop.
And then again we knit a row with increments, but in every 5th loop. And we knit beads in a row.
We knit increases in a new row in every 6th loop without beads.
And now we will not make an increase. And we will alternate 1 row with beads, 1 row without beads. In total, you need to knit 5 rows.
Now let’s start making cuts. We knit a decrease in every 6th loop. Row without beads.
In the next row, we also make decreases, but in every 5th loop we knit beads in a row.
Pour any cereal into a jar from under Kinder Surprise and insert it inside the ball. We fill with synthetic winterizer. Groats will rattle during the game, and children like it. That is, the ball will also be a rattle.
We continue to make improvements. Now we make them in every 4th loop. And we knit this row without beads.
We make decreases in a new row in every 3rd loop and knit in beads.
And then we will no longer knit beads. We knit a row with decreases in every 2nd loop. And in the last row we will knit 2 columns together.
Pull off the knitting and hide the thread inside the ball. A crochet developing tactile ball is ready!
