How to crochet an educational toy “Pockets”
Toys play a very important role in the development of the baby. Today we will knit a bright educational toy that will contribute to the development of the child’s thought processes, and will also teach you to distinguish colors.
For knitting you will need: thread, hook, filler, needle, scissors.
First we knit the base. Cast on 25 stitches. Then 2 more instead of 1 dc. We knit further in each loop for 1 dc, starting with 3 loops from the hook.
We turn around and knit 3 loops instead of 1 dc, and then 1 dc in each loop. So we knit the whole row.
The next 9 rows repeat the previous row.
The base is ready. Now we will knit the pockets themselves. There will only be 4 of them. Cast on 12 stitches. Then 3 more. We knit 1 dc, starting with 3 loops. We turn around and knit a row of ssn, having previously completed 3 lifting loops. Next, we knit with reversal rows. In total, you need to make 4 rows. That is, 2 tied, you need to complete 2 more rows. We knit 4 pockets in different colors.
Now these pockets need to be sewn to the main fabric. Sew on the sides and bottom. We leave the top one free, so that later we can place the balls there.
Let’s knit the balls. We collect 6 sc in a sliding loop. We add to each loop. Then we add through the loop. The next 2 rows are not added. And then we decrease through the loop, and in the new row we knit 2 loops together. We do not cut the thread, but we knit 16 loops.
We knit 4 such balls.The color of the balls must match the color of the pocket. You can fill the balls with some rustling filler or cereal. You can also just use a synthetic winterizer or a bead.
We sew the ball from the top in the center, but not from the outside, but from the wrong side.
Then sew the remaining 3 balls to the same point.
It remains to close the seams at the back. To do this, you need to connect 1 more blue square in the same way as the first one. We sew it on the back.
