How to make a bookmark Pig from foamiran
The original bookmark with the symbol of the coming year will please any book lover. It is suitable for both home reading books and school literature.

To bookmark we need:
- foamiran 1 mm thick in three colors – white, pink and red;
- white satin ribbon with silver lurex – 0.5 * 12 cm;
- the middle of the flower is pink with a diameter of 1 cm;
- lace “Flower” of two colors: pink and red with a diameter of 2 cm;
- decorative eyes.
Additional material and tools:
- scissors, templates, pen, toothpick (skewer), glue gun.
Step by step description
1. The bookmark consists of two parts. If you are tired of one, you can turn it over to the other side. Let’s start with hearts. First, prepare two heart templates, one should be slightly larger. We indicated the sizes on the templates.
2. Then we take a big heart and transfer it to cardboard, then we go down to the tip of the heart and draw another one. Thus we make a chain of four hearts. Cut out the piece with scissors. We do not touch the small template yet.
3. We take red foamiran (fom) and with the help of a toothpick or a special stick we translate the workpiece from four hearts. We also need 4 small hearts. We translate into white fom.
4. Cut out the blanks.
5. Glue the white hearts with hot glue to the red ones.Apply a small amount of glue, only around the edge.
6. Print or draw a pig pattern. The pig should be about 8 cm long.
7. Cut out the blank and transfer it to cardboard. Let’s draw what it will look like. We will also make a template for a small heart for a pig. The dimensions are indicated on the workpiece. So in the future it will be easier to transfer them to foamiran.
8. We take a pink fom and circle the workpiece, and another oval (this will be a patch). Let’s make the heart red. Let’s make a bow on one ear. We cut it out of a white foma, about 1.5 cm long. We will also prepare eyes and a pink flower to decorate our bow.
9. We glue all the blanks and parts. With a black felt-tip pen, draw two dots on the patch.
10. Cut off one flower from the lace. To make the reverse side look good, we try to match the color of the lace. For a pig – pink, for hearts – a red or white flower. We also need a satin ribbon. We chose white color with silver lurex. The length of the segment can be any, at your discretion. Ours is 12 cm.
11. Apply a small amount of glue to the front side of the tape and glue it to the wrong side of the pig. We close the place of gluing with a flower. We also glue it with a glue gun.
12. Glue to the hearts in the same way. This is what the back side of our bookmarks looks like:
Our bookmark is ready. Hearts can be decorated with small rhinestones. You can also make a pig separately on a string to decorate the Christmas tree. And stick a strip of hearts on the hoop and get the original rim. If you have a little helper nearby, you can entrust some of the work to her. This will not only bring you closer, it will also give the evening an unforgettable atmosphere.
