Salt dough crafts. Mushroom boletus
Among parents with small children, such material for creativity as salt dough or testoplasty has long been known and loved. It is recommended to start the acquaintance of the baby with modeling with the test, since it is softer and more pliable than plasticine. In addition, do not worry if the child decides to taste the dough. It contains only natural ingredients, and the rich salty taste will discourage the child from trying the dough again.
It is always pleasant and interesting to work with testoplasty. Such activities are useful not only for children, but also have a beneficial effect on the general mood of an adult. After all, the manufacture of products from salt dough is, first of all, a creative process. And any processes associated with creativity always have a positive effect on the human psyche.
So, let’s get started.
First of all, we need an idea. Everyone, both adults and children, love to pick mushrooms. Let the ideas for our inspiration be salt dough mushrooms. They can be made in different shapes, sizes and quantities.
Secondly, we need to prepare a mixture from which we will sculpt. For this you need to take:
- 1 part extra fine salt
- 1 part wheat flour
- 1/2 part water.
All ingredients must be mixed. If the dough crumbles and does not stick together in a homogeneous lump, then add a little liquid. The result should be a homogeneous, elastic mastic.
At the third stage, we sculpt the product. This is done on a flat surface – a plank, plywood, thick cardboard. In order to make a mushroom from salt dough, you need to roll up the leg, put it on the surface and press down a little. Then we make a small pancake, more precisely half a pancake. We fix the resulting hat on the leg. The hat can be slightly twisted by making a flirty wave. Now we will make our mushroom spout from a ball of dough. Eyes, mouth, eyebrows can be drawn with a toothpick, pushing through small indentations.
Now we will make grass around our boletus. This is done simply. You can roll small thin sausages from the dough, or you can take a spade with round holes and push a small piece of dough through it. On the other hand, ready-made grass will come out, which can be collected in bunches and attached to the product.
At the fourth stage, we dry the craft. This can be done on a hot battery for 1-2 days. And you can speed up the process and dry in the oven over low heat for 1.5-2 hours, depending on the thickness of the product.
The fifth stage is also very interesting – you need to color the craft. To do this, it is better to choose acrylic paints or gouache. After the paint dries, it is advisable to varnish the salt dough craft. The varnish will give the craft shine and protect the paint from fading.
And in conclusion, it remains to glue the product from testoplastics onto colored thick cardboard with PVA glue and hang it on the wall.
You can make the dough for modeling with your own hands, or you can buy it ready-made.
