Crafts from natural materials. Walnut chicken
Autumn is a bright colorful season. Colorful trees are not only beautiful, but also generous. The gardens give children delicious apples, grapes and nuts. City parks supply young craftsmen with natural materials for handicrafts: acorns, chestnuts, berries.
The walnut kernel is a delicious gourmet food item. The whole drupe is an excellent material for making children’s crafts. Using only shells and plasticine in your work, you can make anything: a ladybug, a bunny, a chicken.
Preschool children are very interested in creating various figures from natural materials. Today, armed with walnuts and plasticine, we will make a simple craft – a chicken.

The egg-shaped shape of the drupe is ideal for decorating the head of our hero. It remains to fashion a small scallop, two black eyes and a cone-shaped beak from plasticine. In the manufacture of these simple parts, the child should not have problems. Preschoolers can easily cope with the task.

Attaching plasticine elements to a walnut shell is much more difficult. Here, it is quite possible that you will have to turn to your mother for help. There is nothing to hide, plasticine sticks poorly to the smooth surface of the drupe.Especially if the room is cool and the parts harden quickly.

Nevertheless, we managed. The torso and head of the craft are ready.

The neck can be any color (orange, red, white), but we settled on a bright sunny version.
Wings – two flat leaves. The edges of the parts are decorated with grooves cut with a stack. This is chicken feathers. If desired, the wings can be molded from several pieces of plasticine. Then the hero will turn out to be colorful and elegant.

We attach the details from the side of the back, give the wings any position.

As for the legs of the hero, it must be remembered that real chickens have very thin limbs. If something similar is made from plasticine, then the craft will turn out to be unstable, it will constantly tip over. How to proceed?
We propose to plant the chicken on a horizontal surface and attach the legs to the front of the nut-torso. An example is shown in the picture.

Craft from walnuts and plasticine is ready. So that the autumn theme of the work is not in doubt, we will collect yellow and brown maple leaves in the yard, spread them around the chicken.

Tomorrow, work on a cardboard basis will be assigned to kindergarten. To the exhibition.
All good mood and creative success!
