Crafts from natural materials. fox from cones
Autumn forest is beautiful leaves, mushrooms, acorns and cones.
Let’s keep a wonderful forest dweller – a fox made of cones – as a memory of summer.
You can make this wonderful craft with your kids in minutes.
And here are the materials we need for this:
- two fir cones (it would be nice to find curved ones)
- pine unopened (cone) cone for the muzzle
- orange and red clay

The fox is very graceful in her red fur coat, and we will try to make the same one from cones.
Staged implementation
1. Choose a slightly curved spruce cone – this will be the base for the fox. From orange plasticine we will make four bundles. Fox legs are long and beautiful.

2. Carefully attach the paws to the body of the chanterelle. The lower part needs to be bent a little and make a foot.

3. We make the breast and neck from orange plasticine and fasten the pine cone-head. It is important to find an unopened pinecone, as it has a beautiful cone shape, which is what you need for a cunning, elongated fox’s muzzle.

4. We fasten another curved bump-tail with plasticine and make out the fox’s muzzle: we make small eyes, ears and a nose. Do not forget to make a white spot on the chest, because every fox has a beautiful white shirt-front.

Here we have such a cunning fox in just a few minutes.

The mysterious, smart and beautiful guest from the forest is ready!

This craft is suitable for any children’s exhibition from natural materials.

You can also make an owl or a cat out of cones. And how to do this, see our next master classes.
